As a family-run and operated business each member of the team plays a vital role in the company. Alberto and Rocio began the company in Cleburne, TX and eventually resettled in Frisco, TX. We've been in Frisco for over 12 years now and can't imagine living elsewhere.
We have an office, showroom, and warehouse we work out of in Frisco, where you can usually find someone working on various projects from manufacturing palapas, building custom bars, and prepping materials for full home renovations.
Alberto Sr. is known as the boss man. He's the owner of the business and oversees all operations. He has a very serious mustache (it's no joke) and clients really love when he goes out to give their quotes. He has an incredible wealth of knowledge, he's a very honest man, he is somehow always doing something, and has probably never "just chilled" a day in his life.
Favorite thing about working at MTR:
I always get to create and make new things. There are always new projects to work on and I get to create beautiful spaces in people's homes.
Least favorite thing about working at MTR:
When people leave things unorganized in the shop and I have to fix it.
Hobbies:
Wood carvings--I like to carve tiki warriors, paint, make large custom tables, and build things at the shop.
Favorite MTR Projects to work on:
I love all project and home remodels. My favorite is getting to make thatch cabanas. We have a wonderful thatch product that just looks beautiful installed and it's a product I'm very proud of because of it's durability. Customers always love it.
Rocio is our Operations Manager and Thatch Expert. She's always on top of all things and is a joy to work with at the office.
Favorite thing about working at MTR:
I get to work with my family on a daily basis.
Least favorite thing about working at MTR:
When I have to file paperwork in the office.
Hobbies:
I love swimming, reading, and being in the outdoors. If i'm not working I'm doing these things.
Favorite MTR Projects to work on:
My favorite of course is working with Palapa orders. Our thatch is such a high-quality product and seeing the final thatch-structure is always the best part.
Albert is our Project Manager/Sales Expert/Marketing Director.
He graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with his Bachelors in Marketing. He's well-known at the office as the marketing guru (by me) and company sweet-heart by all clients.
Favorite thing about working at MTR:
The crew. (He's a man of few words).
Least favorite thing about working at MTR:
When I'm project-managing a job site and I have to eat lunch alone.
Hobbies:
Making music, writing poetry, playing guitar.
Favorite MTR Projects to work on:
All of them. But I also really like bathroom remodels and building custom homes from the ground up with my bare hands.
Alberto is our Project Manager/ Estimator/ Intensive Laborer/ All-around MTR Pro. Many know him as the Little Boss Man (he loves when we call him this). He has his Associates Degree from Collin College and is a favorite at all job-sites, favorite with our workers, and favorite in all MTR hearts.
Favorite thing about working at MTR:
Finalizing jobs with the clients. I love doing the final walk-through and having the clients see their finished project. Love seeing their reactions and how happy they always are with their home remodel or new construction.
Least favorite thing about working at MTR:
Going from seeing my clients at their homes everyday while working, to only seeing them once in a while when they call back for other projects.
Hobbies:
Flying my drone, editing/making videos, cleaning my truck.
Favorite MTR Projects to work on:
I love working with clients on bathroom remodels and submitting perfect work. I also love the full palapa process--from building the palapa, thatching and installing the palapa, and then talking with the clients under their new shade.
Daniella is our Office Manager. She has her law degree from the UNT Dallas College of Law. She's also writing this short bio about herself, so it's very hard for her to not be awkward.
Favorite thing about working at MTR:
I love getting to talk to clients all day. I love developing relations and could talk on the phone and write emails to them all day. Also really love that I get to work in shorts and a t-shirt to the office when it's warm out.
Least favorite thing about working at MTR:
When I call people to follow up on quotes we send and they reject me (the company really, but I like to take it personally).
Hobbies:
Outdoor activities, working on my various art projects, and baking desserts for people.
Favorite MTR Projects to work on:
Full home remodels because I get to be very involved and there's always a lot to coordinate, thatching because I get to step out of the office during the work day, and when people order custom wood signs.
