A Down-to-the-Studs Custom Kitchen in North Texas
Everything came out: 43.5 linear feet of old cabinetry, 32 linear feet of granite countertop, 36 square feet of granite backsplash, the crown molding, the sink, and every appliance. What went back in was built for this family.
The unseen work came first. We cut and jackhammered the foundation to relocate the range's electrical line, ran a new ice maker line for the refrigerator, set new sink, disposal, and dishwasher connections, and replaced the cutoff valves. Electrical was rebuilt around the new layout: three outlet sets in the island, new GFCIs, relocated pendant drops over the island, and roughly 25 linear feet of LED under-cabinet lighting hidden in a metal channel light where you work, no visible fixtures.
Then the cabinetry: a custom 5' x 8' island with furniture legs at the barstool overhang and storage on both sides, 16 linear feet of custom wall cabinets run to the ceiling at 15" depth, a dedicated spice cabinet tower, 20 linear feet of base cabinets all with soft-close hinges and drawer slides, all approved by the client from shop drawings before fabrication. A custom-fabricated range hood anchors the range wall, and approximately 90 square feet of quartz countertop ties it together. Fifty-nine linear feet of cabinetry was sanded, primed, and hand-painted in two coats, with a full three-color repaint of the kitchen, dining, and pantry, including 56 linear feet of open pine pantry shelving.
